The long nights and group discussions, we have finally made the video at last. Even thought we failed for connecting our ideas into the video , we felt proud about making this sort of video. No matter what it is , creativity is really wide. We took that challenge and tried our best. We made this according to our understanding . Too bad it failed thought but the lesson we learned will never be forgotten. Thank you for everything.

The History of Faculty of Creative Multimedia

  The Starting point of Faculty of Creative Multimedia

                            Faculty of Creative Multimedia also known as FCM focuses on the Multimedia or Digital technology by using creativity to create something new and communicate with other people using art or graphics. Apparently, University Telekom which is also known as Multimedia University (MMU) is the top 7 universities in Malaysia.  Multimedia University is best known for its Creative Multimedia courses. During 1997, the faculty had planned to produce great digital designers. Over the years, The Faculty of Creative Multimedia has improved greatly, not only in technology but also creativity, imagination and passion. MMU was set up by Telekom Malaysian Berhad and was launched by the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia , Tun Dr.Mahathir Bin Mohamed on 9^th July 1999.There are two MMU campus , which is MMU in Melaka the original campus and MMU in Cyberjaya . The Cyberjaya Campus basically is the foundation of Creative Multimedia .Not only that, The Cyberjaya Campus also consists of Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Technology, Faculty of Management, Centre for Foundation Studies and Extension Education and, the institute for Postgraduates Studies. The difference between these two campuses is that MMU Cyberjaya focuses on Mobile career options whereas MMU Melaka focuses on specialized in industries. The Faculty of Creative Multimedia will produce many great future developers that would change the world. The objective of the faculty is to make students understand how art is produce from the heart and passion to make it a beautiful masterpiece.

Courses in Creative Multimedia

       When we think about the future, we will find that the influence of technology, especially digital technology is indispensable. At Faculty of Creative Multimedia, they offer many courses that are very important and useful for the future and careers of students who choose creative multimedia as an option. Therefore, the courses offered in undergraduate programs are Bachelor of Multimedia (Media Arts) , Bachelor of Multimedia (Animation and Visual Effects) , Bachelor of Multimedia (Advertising Design) , Bachelor of Multimedia (Interface Design) and Bachelor of Multimedia (Virtual Reality).Moreover in postgraduate program the courses that offered are Master of Science (MSc.) in Creative Multimedia , Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) (Creative Multimedia) , Master of Knowledge Management with Multimedia and Master of Multimedia (E-Learning Technologies).

In Media Arts they integrate digital technologies with traditional forms of artistic methods of expression through images. Furthermore, for the person that have an interest in computers, internet and like to explore something new for creative expression the course that suitable for them is in media art.  In Animation and visual effects designed to launch students toward a successful career in visual effects for film and television, and emerging applications for 3D visualization and 3D animation. Another course is advertising design. In advertising design they emphasis is given to the understanding of concept of branding, positioning, advertising strategy, media application and product solution. Interface design is most often associated with the development of Web pages, computer software, and multimedia, but is relevant to the creation of any instructional media or technical equipment. It also can make a product easy to understand and use, which results in greater user acceptance. Lastly, is Virtual Reality. Virtual Reality is an artificial environment that is created with software and presented to the user in such a way that the user suspends belief and accepts it as a real environment.

Undergraduate Studies and Postgraduate Studies

In undergraduate studies , faculty of creative multimedia has two levels in undergraduate program which is foundation and degree. Foundation program has duration about one year. The conditions for the local recruitment for Foundation in Creative Multimedia needed to pass in SPM or O Level or its equivalent with 5C’s including English and Mathematics or a pass in UEC with 4 B’s including English and Mathematics. Other than that, the international students must require a pass in O Levels or equivalent with 5 credits including of Mathematics or pass in A levels or equivalent with 3 credits, including Mathematics or Economics. As mention in the courses, the degree program provides Media Arts, Animation and Visual Effects, Advertising Design, Interface Design and Virtual Reality courses. The Degree Program requires 3 years to complete. The Undergraduate Studies objective is to develop a great multimedia industry in Malaysia. After that, the postgraduate studies has  three levels .Furthermore the intakes for international and local students are different. Normally, local students will come two weeks earlier than international students. In addition; the Postgraduate Studies has four admissions program in the Faculty of Creative Multimedia. There are Master of Science (MSc.) in Creative Multimedia ,The Master of Knowledge Management with Multimedia  and Master of Multimedia (E-Learning Technologies) but for the program of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) (Creative Multimedia)  are offered for local applicants only.

The Job Prospect

    Multimedia University students are known to get their job 90% easier than other universities  .There are lot of job prospects you can find through Creative Multimedia courses  , and as you know there are about five different courses  you can find in the faculty .They are  Film and Animation , Media Innovation , Media Arts , Virtual Reality and Interface Design .  Through film and animation, the job prospects are divided to quite numerous varieties such as film director, animation director, animators and art directors. They can also be an entrepreneur and build up their own business. Film and animation students can also be a graphic designer and work at an advertising company. As for Media Innovation, the job prospects are a lot.  They can be advertising consultant, web designers, multimedia designer or an entrepreneur. Graphic designer or advertiser is the main job for those who took media innovation. Graphic designer is one of the most needed professions in this modern world, even big company like PETRONAS needs a graphic designer in one of their departments. And in this advertising world today, the competition is getting tougher and tougher as brilliant of creative ideas to promote a product is produced every day. So, they need to be the best to succeed in the advertising world. Despite that, Media arts also have lots of job to be considered once you take the course.   Art director also be produced by studying media arts as it teaches you to conduct a creative ideas along the way. You can also be called a "Creative Engineers" as they will be meddling with electronic to create creative art. As you see the walls of Petrosains , Pusat Sains Negara or any art exhibition , they have this special colorful walls to attract people . These are the works from the people who learned media arts in universities. They are needed on such special occasion. Virtual Reality is a rather interesting course because they are more likely to be known as game developer .They are famous for inventing virtual games the job as a game developer is increasing in the job demand , so people who took this course may have a bright future ahead . Virtual reality does not only take game developer as their main profession but also virtual environment designer. Last but not least Interface Design can lead their profession through R&D product design, simulation designer and obviously interface designers. The need of designing a better product is important in this technological world to create a big impact for the modern society. All the five courses are guaranteed a job, and to look closely they all can be a graphic designer and there for, their future is confirmed to be bright if they are hard workers and have determination to achieve success.   Faculty of Creative Multimedia has prepared the best for their students to excel and get great and better jobs in the future.

     In conclusion, The Faculty of Creative Multimedia has provided us great opportunities to understand the great and amazing art world before entering into the real world. Not only that, it could also bring us close and understand to the artists who produce in any kind of art. The courses in Creative Multimedia provide varieties of art and designers. We are able to choose the course that we are interested on or we can go through the foundation course to make it clearer to choose the specific course. Some courses have changes their assignments throughout the years to make the students unleash their imaginations in different things than the students back then. Original is very important in the Faculty of Creative Multimedia because if we are to copy other’s people work, not only will we would lie to ourselves but also will give dissatisfaction towards ourselves and also the creator of the work. Multimedia University is one of the great outstanding universities that would be a wonderful starting point to have a bright future in this course of faculty.

  As you can see , film and animation is quiet interesting to enter in faculty of creative multimedia. This is because film and animation has influenced most of the media world.  It attracts the younger generations to have interest towards film and animation. The course can enhance the skills of the user to manipulate the image into 3D or 2D using  the latest technology. Not only that , The more you learn in film and animation , the knowledge that you want to learn is getting more and more bigger by the moment. You need a lot of passion to make your work better and greater than any other people. If you do not have this kind of passion , your work will just ended up dull and boring. Film and animation takes time and consumes a lot of money , that is why patient is the key to success. Many great works were done in a long duration of time. Quality is also important in film and animation. The course will surely take your sleeping time away if you do not manage your time to do it. In multimedia university facilities provided for this course is very convenient  as they also have the green room which makes it easier for the students to understand the process on how animation is being produced. There are a lots job prospect in film and animation such director , scriptwriting , art director and animator. Now , animator is the most interesting part in film and animation. As an animator , you are the artist to make  many multiple images and create movement in the story frame by frame. Your hand is the essential of your profession of being an animator. You need consistency  and quality to produce a good animation. Animators can spread their abilities in Film , television , internet , movies and games.  The salary for animators can go as high as $93k even multimedia university students who took animation are now doing well as an animator in big companies such as Les Copaque . The animation "Upin and Ipin" are known to be produced mostly by mmu students and this has put mmu known as great animators producer.

Assignment 2 : Using Juxtaposition. Association with words

1.Cup and saucer is like an animator,

They always stick together no matter what happens,

Like student and their creativity,

If one of it lost,

Its look like not perfect,

Like a creativity without good ideation...

2.Cup and Saucer like Animator,

in spite of this course in Malaysia,

at MMU, it is the best and No1 in Malaysia.

Although there are many courses in Malaysia,

but an animator are the main options today.

Talent that is, if sharpened,

eventually all will shine.

We were going through with the next mind map , we ended up with another logical mind map but using film and animation. Unfortunately again , the lecturer said to deepen it again . With patient , we have chosen animator. Instead of going to have another mind map , we made it into a metaphor using  the cup and saucer.

At this stage of the assignment , our lecturers has ask to make a logical mind map of the FCM , using colors , lines and all , we have produce this mind map. Unfortunately , when we showed  to one of the lecturers , he said we need to have a favorite subject in the fcm. So after that , we had a group discussion and choose Film and animation.Why did we we choose flm and animation?  the motivation and dedication of the film and animation makes people feel proud of their work. After that , the lecturer ask us to have a connection with cup and saucer if its with random words or associated mind map.

This would be our last entry , the weeks with the lecturers are coming to an end. The lecturer has given us one more exercise which was Association with words. By using the important points of an object without actually put the object, we would produce a very special word. After that , we would make a sentence about the word.  The fact that it did not make sense made people realize how wonderful it was learning this kind of things. Towards the end, the lecturer has given us our final assignment. The final assignment was about the History faculty of creative Multimedia. Using all of the methods the lectures has given us , we would make a wonderful idea about how to make it as creative as possible.Hopefully , we could obtain a great knowledge =)

Juxtaposition Exercise

1.Love is like a Red Chili,
even do when we chew it gently,
we are still be able to feel the hot and the spicy,
in love there must be some bitter relationship,
nevertheless there are still have the sweetness,
to cover the difficult time.

2.Love is like a chili..

even in winter it makes me hotter,

even in old days u turn ugly i still love you,

even u always make me cry i still cant stop...

     


            Light is a symbol of Life,
            it will illuminate our lives that glomy darkness,
            although it is light in life,
            when it disappeared,
             our lives will be affected.

1.Ice Cream, symbolizing the Pain,
it is not impressed when the pain is not to deep,
but when it extends,
it can not be cured and will be deep pain.

2.Love is like ice cream,

even it beautiful early but its still melt at the end if u not care about it.

                                  Cup and Saucer represents the Love,
                                  if there is no compability between each other,
                                  love will not be something interesting.
